Hear What You've Been Missing!

Hearing Products

If a diagnostic audiological evaluation indicates that you would hear better with hearing aids, the audiologist at Atlantic Audiology will review your options with you. When selecting a hearing aid, you must consider your hearing needs, your lifestyle, your cosmetic concerns, any physical limitations such as diminished sight or dexterity, and your budget. You can rely on Atlantic Audiology to recommend the right technology for you.

Hearing Aid Styles

Hearing aids are worn in the ear or behind the ear. Some are so small they fit completely in canal (CIC), making them virtually invisible. The style you wear will depend on the level of amplification you need and the features that will make hearing easier for you.

Behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids consist of a case worn behind the ear and an earmold or receiver worn in the ear. If you have mild to severe hearing loss, this might be the option for you.

Receiver-in-the-eare (RITE) hearing aids are miniature versions of behind the ear hearing aids. They do not use an earmold. Instead, the sound is delivered through a small tube to a small receiver that is worn in the canal. They are prescribed for mild-to-severe hearing loss.

In-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids come in several different style. They may be full-or half-shell molds worn in the ear, a small device worn deep in the ear canal, or a device worn in the outer portion of the ear canal. Because of their small size, the devices worn in the canal are nearly invisible.

Hearing Aid Batteries
